DMCA / Copyright Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-04
Oryxa respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of the Service to do the same. This policy describes how copyright owners can report claims of infringement and how we respond to them.
1. Oryxa Does Not Host Streaming Content
Oryxa is a media tracker and companion application. We do not host, upload, stream, or distribute copyrighted video or audio content — Oryxa does not let you watch or listen to shows, movies, or podcasts. Catalog metadata (titles, artwork, descriptions, episode lists) is licensed or sourced from third-party providers such as TMDB, AniList/Jikan, and Podcast Index.
The primary area where copyright concerns could arise on Oryxa is user-generated text content — reviews, comments, and similar posts — which may occasionally include material that infringes a copyright owner’s rights (for example, reproducing substantial portions of a copyrighted script, article, or other work without permission).
2. Submitting a Takedown Notice
If you believe that content on Oryxa infringes your copyright, you may submit a written notice to our designated agent (see Section 4) that includes the following elements:
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, including enough detail for us to identify the work;
- A description and, where possible, a direct link (URL) to the specific material on Oryxa you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it;
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address so we can contact you about the notice;
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the copyright owner’s behalf; and
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Notices that do not substantially include these elements may not receive a response. Upon receipt of a valid notice, we will remove or disable access to the identified material and notify the user who posted it.
3. Counter-Notification
If you believe content you posted was removed or disabled in error or as a result of misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification to our designated agent that includes:
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address;
- Identification of the material that was removed or disabled and its location before removal;
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification;
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts, and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original takedown notice (or their agent); and
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Upon receiving a valid counter-notification, we may, at our discretion and where legally appropriate, restore the material after a reasonable waiting period, unless the original complainant informs us that they have filed a legal action seeking a court order restraining the user from engaging in infringing activity.
4. Designated Agent
Copyright takedown notices and counter-notifications should be sent to our designated agent at: dmca@oryxa.app.
5. Repeat Infringer Policy
In appropriate circumstances, Oryxa will terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers of third-party copyright. We may also, at our discretion, suspend or restrict accounts pending review of a claim.
